Rosé Sparkling Tea by Fortnum & Mason
The sparkling teas at Fortnum & Mason have been a hit in Hong Kong more so than London, as there is an apparently larger percentage of consumers who prefer non-alcoholic tipples in our city. The sparkling teas come in a champagne-style bottle along with a pleasant popping unveil. The rosé version (HK$268) is drier than the original sparkling tea, and has berry flavours which reflect the taste of an elegant rosé. The complex brew consists of 11 organic teas, including Fortnum’s sencha, silver needle and darjeeling. The nose is of raspberry pavlova, sherbet, wild strawberries, elderflower and oolong as the palate opens up to tropical fruits, cranberry, hints of ginger and deep layers of darjeeling that compliment the Japanese sencha. The addition, hibiscus, gives it a pink colour and is responsible for the dryness, red fruit flavours and complex herbal tannins. You really feel like you are celebrating with sparkling teas as they feel just as special as champagne.
Available from Fortnum & Mason, K11 Atelier, Tsim Sha Tsui.
